About the Provider

Shaunte Anum-Addo, MD, graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in biology and then completed her medical degree at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. After completion of her medical degree, Dr. Anum-Addo began her residency training at Children’s National Hospital as a member of the Community Health Track (now known as the LAUNCH Track).

In 2014, she joined the Goldberg Center for Community Pediatric Health as a full-time faculty where she served as an active member of the Reproductive Health Champions team and served as the reproductive health lead from 2017-2019. Dr. Anum-Addo also provided care to parenting teens and their families through the Healthy Generations program from 2015-2025. In 2025, Dr Anum-Addo transitioned to Children’s National Pediatrics & Associates Foggy Bottom and Capitol Hill.

Dr. Anum-Addo’s clinical interest is increasing access to safe and effective reproductive healthcare in the pediatric setting. She completed certification in Nexplanon placements and removals and has been providing this service since 2014. Additionally, Dr. Anum-Addo enjoys providing care to all pediatric patients across the age spectrum. Dr. Anum-Addo is passionate about medical education and training a pediatric workforce that is reflective of the patient population being served. She has put this passion to work as founding member of the Section on Minority Health, Equity, and Inclusion within the American Academy of Pediatrics, in which she served as an executive committee member from 2016 to 2021. Dr. Anum-Addo serves as an assistant program director for the Pediatric Residency Program and the associate pediatric clerkship director for the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

In her free time, she enjoys travel, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her husband, daughter and extended family.
