About the Provider
Samantha Allen, MD, FAAP, is a fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) at Children’s National Hospital and an assistant professor of surgery and pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and holds subspecialty certification in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology.
Dr. Allen specializes in the management of pediatric hearing loss and head and neck surgery. She performs advanced procedures for hearing restoration, including cochlear implantation, bone-anchored hearing system implantation and ossicular chain reconstruction. She is also one of two surgeons in the Thyroid Nodule and Thyroid Cancer Clinic, a multidisciplinary program dedicated to the care of children with genetic, autoimmune and neoplastic thyroid conditions. Dr. Allen provides complex pediatric ENT care at Children’s National Hospital as well as general ENT services at affiliated ambulatory sites.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2015. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Louisville (2015–2020), followed by a fellowship in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s National Hospital/George Washington University (2020–2021).
Dr. Allen serves as the site director for pediatric otolaryngology education at Children’s National Hospital, overseeing the training of residents and medical students from George Washington University Hospital, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Allegheny Health Network.
