About the Provider

Rachel Falik, DNP, CPNP-PC, is a nurse practitioner in the Infectious Diseases Division and is the advanced practice provider lead of Infectious Diseases, Ryan White Grants and Interventional Radiology at Children's National Hospital. Falik attended the University of Pittsburgh, where she received her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2012. Following graduation, she worked as a registered nurse caring for solid organ transplant recipients, as well as those with intestinal and liver failure. She returned to the University of Pittsburgh, where she obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2018 as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She joined the team at Children’s National in January of 2022 after four years as the outpatient nurse practitioner in the Abdominal Transplant Surgery Department at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. 

Falik joined the Infectious Diseases team at Children’s National to assist with expansion of their outpatient program and development of standardized operating procedures for care of patients requiring Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT). She serves as the patient access representative for the division. She has expanded her role to include care of the immunocompromised and transplant populations, including vaccine education. 

Falik currently serves as the president of the DC Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) where she is leading efforts in planning a regional conference for local advanced practice providers.
