About the Provider
Oscar M. Taube, MD, was born and raised in New York City. He received his medical degree the from New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Taube completed his pediatric internship and residency at Children's National Hospital and stayed there to become (along with Dr. Nagel) Dr. Larry D'Angelo's first adolescent medicine fellow. Following his fellowship, he worked for 39 years as an attending physician and coordinator of adolescent medicine at the Children's Hospital of Sinai of Baltimore. During his time there, he was honored with numerous teaching awards from Sinai Hospital, as well as the Lifetime Achievement award from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Taube continues to serve as the Chairperson of the Committee on Adolescent Health for the Maryland Chapter for American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also co-chairperson of the 5 State/D.C. Pediatric Post-Roe Reproductive Health Coalition.
Dr. Taube enjoys almost all areas of adolescent medicine, but special areas of interest and expertise include: adolescent advocacy, the transition of older adolescents from the pediatric to adult medical care, adolescent patients in foster care and teaching adolescent medicine to clinicians in training. After retiring from Sinai Hospital in June 2023, he returned to work and came back to Children’s Hospital.
