About the Provider
Keyur Desai, MD, CAQSM, is a board-certified primary care sports medicine physician. He completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Chicago (North Shore), and his fellowship at University Hospitals/Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
As a non-operative sports medicine physician, Dr. Desai is trained to care for the athlete as a whole, from sports-related concussions, female athletes and stress fractures, to diagnosis and management of all the bones, joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons of the body. Dr. Desai is also specially trained in ultrasound-guided procedures and diagnostic scans.
Through his career, Dr. Desai has been involved in the care of high school teams, NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and professional sports teams and athletes. He is proud to be the head team physician at several D.C.-area high schools, work with area gymnastics gyms, and take care of dancers at dance studios.
Dr. Desai sees patients ages six and above, including adults of all ages. He is trained in management of pediatric- and adult-specific conditions, and values providing care for the whole family.
Whether you are trying to make it through the work day, a weekend warrior, an elite youth athlete, or somewhere in between, Dr. Desai knows how important your health and fitness is to you. Clinic visits with him involve interpreting imaging, discussing how to manage your body during injury, evaluating you for procedures or discussing if surgery is ultimately the right choice for you.
Dr. Desai's goal is to get you back to doing what you love in a healthy, safe and time-sensitive fashion!
