Danita L. Tucker-Powell, MD, graduated cum laude from Towson University and received a Doctor of Medicine from Howard University's College of Medicine. Upon graduation from Howard, she completed a pediatric residency at Children’s National. After completing her residency, she then joined the staff of University Care, one of University of Maryland’s community primary care sites in Baltimore. There, she oversaw the asthma management program and treated an under-resourced community.

In 2005, Dr. Tucker-Powell joined Children’s National Pediatricians & Associates (CNPA) Greenbelt where she has served as lead physician since joining. While caring for all aspects of pediatrics, she still has a special interest in asthma management. She is board-certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Tucker-Powell has practiced in pediatrics for three decades. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with family.
