Neuropsychologist

Christopher Vaughan, PsyD, is a pediatric neuropsychologist and a member of the Division of Neuropsychology at Children's National Hospital. He is an associate professor in the departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Vaughan is the assistant director of the Safe Concussion Outcome Recovery and Education (SCORE) Program, where he evaluates and treats children and adolescents with sports and non-sports related concussions and traumatic brain injury.

Dr. Vaughan is actively involved in research and is the principal investigator on the CARE4Kids project, a federally funded national study to understand predictors of prolonged recovery from concussions in adolescents. He has presented his research at national and international conferences, is a co-author on several book chapters, and has published multiple research articles in scholarly journals. 

Dr. Vaughan is a charter member and fellow in the Sports Neuropsychology Society (SNS) and is the society's current treasurer. He has received SNS’s designation of Advanced Clinical Practice Proficiency (ACPP), recognizing his advanced clinical experience in the assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment/rehabilitation of sport-related concussion (SRC) and its sequelae. He serves as a consultant to the NHL, AHL, and NFL's concussion programs.
