About the Provider

Christina Feng, MD, is a board-certified pediatric surgeon providing advanced surgical care in general pediatric and thoracic surgery in infants, children and adolescents. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery, neonatal surgery and care of children with complex congenital conditions. Dr. Feng combines her expertise with compassion to support children and families through every stage of their treatment.

She treats a broad spectrum of surgical conditions, with an emphasis on complex colorectal conditions such as anorectal malformations and Hirschsprung's Disease, as well as vascular anomalies, such as venous or lymphatic malformations. She is especially interested in helping families navigate prenatal diagnoses and treating congenital conditions such as lung or chest lesions, abdominal cysts, hernias, abdominal or pelvic masses and other intestinal conditions. 

Dr. Feng is an assistant professor of surgery and pediatrics at the George Washington School of Medicine & Health Sciences. In addition to clinical care, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications to advance the treatment of children with pediatric diseases and participates in multi-centered research consortium studies. She is active in research and quality improvement initiatives aimed at advancing pediatric surgical outcomes at Children's National Hospital. In addition, she is enthusiastically engaged in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents and fellows on the surgical service.

Dr. Feng received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed her general surgery residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. She did a two-year research fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, during which she focused on tissue engineering in esophageal atresia and gastroschisis, translational research, as well as clinical outcomes and quality improvement in appendicitis and colorectal diseases. Dr. Feng completed her pediatric surgery fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She grew up in the DMV area and is excited to bring her expertise to serving patients and families at Children's National Hospital.
