Carmen Phelps is an advanced clinical therapist in the Child and Adolescent Protection Center at Children’s National Hospital. Prior to joining the CAPC team, she worked for Prince George’s County Child Protective Services Unit as the supervisor of the Child Sexual Abuse Unit. In this capacity, Carmen provided clinical supervision to staff and built expertise in crisis intervention. She also worked at a private practice providing therapy for adults who experience anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. She has presented at the International Symposium on Child Abuse on clinical aspects of child welfare. She cares for children from the ages of 8-18.
