About the Provider
Bridget Allard, DO, is a pediatric hospitalist at Children’s National Hospital, associate director of the Pediatric Residency Program and an assistant professor of pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her pediatric residency and chief resident year at Inova Children’s Hospital before entering private practice for two years. Dr. Allard cherished those private practice years but missed hospital-based medicine and therefore went on to complete a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at Children’s National Hospital, as well as George Washington University’s graduate certificate in health care quality.
Clinically she spends time at both the Children’s National main hospital and the community hospital affiliate site, Holy Cross Hospital, where she cares for the well newborn nursery and inpatient unit. She serves as the quality improvement curriculum director for the Children’s National Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship and as a hospital medicine representative for the Holy Cross Newborn Committee working on quality and safety in a multidisciplinary format.
Her research interests include quality improvement science, resource utilization and how technology can interface with patients and families to maximize their hospital-based experience.
When not in the hospital, you can find her cheering for her beloved Virginia Tech Hokies and planning her next scuba diving trip.
