About the Provider

Benjamin Siegel, MD, is an assistant professor of Neurology at Children’s National Hospital and the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Siegel grew up in Atlanta. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his undergraduate degree in neuroscience and psychology. Dr. Siegel returned to Atlanta to attend medical school at Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his child neurology residency at Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, followed by a pediatric neuro-oncology fellowship at Children’s National in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Siegel’s clinical and research focus is on neurofibromatosis and neurologic complications of cancer. At Children’s National, Dr. Siegel is the clinical co-director of the Gilbert Family Neurofibromatosis Institute, which cares for over 400 patients with neurofibromatosis annually. He serves as the site principal investigator for the Neurofibromatosis Clinical Trials Consortium (NFCTC) and the NF1 Glioma Research Center at Children’s National.

Dr. Siegel is board-certified in neurology with special qualification in child neurology. He maintains medical licensure in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland, and telehealth registration in West Virginia. He is an active member in the Society for Neuro-Oncology, Child Neurology Society, and American Academy of Neurology and serves as the Neuroscience Responsible Investigator for the Children’s Oncology Group at Children’s National.

Outside of work, Dr. Siegel enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, cycling, cooking and reading.
