About the Provider
Fatima Sallman, MD, is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellow at Children's National. She earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed pediatric residency training at Children's Hospital of Michigan. Prior to fellowship, she worked as a pediatrician in the emergency department at CHOP. Dr. Sallman chose Children's National because of its balance of autonomy and teamwork, diverse patient population and strong educational environment. Her interests include medical education, sickle cell pain management and clinical informatics. Outside of medicine, she is a pizza enthusiast and completed a month-long rural medicine rotation in Hilo, Hawaii, during medical school.
Fellows are fully credentialed, board-certified providers who can independently practice medicine but are in further training in their specialty. This specialty training is under the supervision of an attending physician.
